The Fundamentals of Troop 560:
Monthly Outing:
Troop 560 prides itself on being a backpacking Troop. Scouts are expected to be physically capable before going on a backpacking trip. Most backpacking trips will allow for both high and low adventure suitable for all Scouts. However, certain trips, such as Red River gorge, are best suited for experienced backpackers.
Monthly outings depart from Church of the Messiah 6:00 pm, (arrive at 5:30 pm) and return to Whittier elementary Sunday afternoon.
Arrival at destination is often late and after dark, and may require a hike to reach the campsite.
Cell phones stay at home or in the car when camping.
Troop Meetings:
Scouts are to bring his Scout book, a notebook, and something to write with to every meeting.
It is the Scout's responsibility to stay informed on troop activities, but a parents help is often needed.
Wear Class A uniforms at Troop meetings until Summer!
Do not wear boots in the church gym!
A complete Class A uniform is required for Scoutmaster conference and Boards of Review for rank advancement. The Class A uniform comprises the shirt, pants or shorts, belt, socks, neckerchief slide!
